1. Posting a request
Provide enough accurate information for professionals to understand the work, location, timing and known risks. Do not post unlawful, unsafe, discriminatory or misleading requests.
2. Quotes and choosing a professional
Professional profiles, badges and reviews help comparison but are not a guarantee. Check the quote, scope, exclusions, VAT status, insurance and qualifications before accepting. Any variation should be recorded in platform messages or an updated quote.
3. Your service contract
When you accept a quote, your service contract is with that professional. The professional is responsible for the service, required information, statutory consumer rights, cancellation rights and any VAT invoice for the underlying work.
4. Deposit and contact unlock
You pay the stated initial deposit, normally 5% of the accepted quote subject to platform minimums, plus any clearly disclosed HirePactly platform fee. The deposit is credited against the professional’s total price. Contact details unlock only after the required payment checks succeed.
5. Remaining balance
HirePactly does not process the remaining balance. After both parties sign off and no incomplete-work claim remains open, the professional may share their own invoice and payment link. Check that the payee and business details match the selected professional before paying.
6. Completion and incomplete-work claims
Inspect the work before signing off. Do not sign a completion declaration unless it accurately reflects the project. If work is incomplete, use the platform claim process before sign-off. While the claim is open, the professional cannot use HirePactly to share a final payment link.
7. Cancellation and statutory rights
Your cancellation rights depend on the type of service, when the contract was formed and whether you expressly asked the professional to begin during a cancellation period. HirePactly does not remove statutory consumer rights. See the detailed cancellation and refund policy.
8. Reviews
Only submit honest reviews based on your own completed transaction. Reviews are moderated before publication and may be rejected or removed under the Reviews Policy.
9. Safety
Use reasonable care when admitting a professional to property, handling keys, discussing vulnerable persons or commissioning regulated work. Verify any licence or qualification required for the service.
