Professional Terms
Last updated: 15 July 2026
1. Independent business status
You act as an independent professional. Nothing creates employment, worker, agency, partnership or franchise status between you and HirePactly. You are responsible for your business, staff, taxes, insurance, licences and legal obligations.
2. Business profile and verification
Keep your legal name, trading name, address, service areas, VAT position, qualifications, insurance and portfolio accurate. Do not claim approval, licensing or verification that you do not hold.
3. Quotes
Quotes must be clear and genuine and should state scope, price, VAT treatment, assumptions, exclusions, timing, payment schedule and cancellation terms. Record agreed changes through the platform.
4. Successful-lead fee
When a customer pays the initial deposit and hires you, you owe the displayed professional success fee. The fee is normally equal to the customer deposit, subject to the configured cap. Any VAT on HirePactly’s fee will be shown where applicable.
5. Customer deposit
The customer deposit is advance payment toward your service price. You are responsible for its accounting and VAT treatment where applicable. Stripe Connect onboarding and verification may be required for deposit processing.
6. Service delivery
Provide the service with reasonable care and skill, within agreed timescales, and in compliance with consumer, health and safety, licensing, data-protection and sector-specific law. You remain responsible for subcontractors and staff.
7. Remaining balance and own payment link
After both parties sign off and no incomplete-work claim is open, you may upload or create the balance invoice and share a secure payment link owned by your business. HirePactly does not collect that balance. Do not misrepresent the payee, add undisclosed charges or redirect customers to an unrelated account.
8. Sign-off, claims and records
Upload accurate completion records. Do not pressure a customer to sign before completion. HirePactly may review messages, agreements, invoices and claims to administer the workflow, but does not determine legal liability between the parties.
9. Tax and VAT
You are responsible for determining whether you must register for VAT, charging the correct VAT on your service, issuing compliant invoices and reporting income. HirePactly does not provide tax advice.
10. Professional standards
Respond respectfully, protect customer data, maintain required insurance and comply with our Acceptable Use Policy. Serious complaints, unsafe work, fee avoidance or misleading profiles may lead to suspension.

These documents are drafted for the current HirePactly operating model. They should be reviewed by a UK solicitor and tax adviser before live launch, particularly the deposit, agency, VAT, cancellation and dispute provisions.
